But now he's banish'd far away:
I'll never see him back again.
2.
When a' the lave gae to their bed,
I wander dowie up the glen,
I set me down, and greet my fill,
And ay I wish him back again.
3.
O, were some villains hangit high,
And ilka body had their ain,
Then I might see the joyfu' sight,
My Highland Harry back again!

Chorus
O, for him come back again!
O, for him come back again!
I would give all Knockhaspie's land
For Highland Harry back again.

My Harry was a gallant gay,
Full stately strode he on the plain
But now he is banished far away:
I will never see him back again.

When all the rest go to their bed,
I wander drooping up the glen,
I set me down, and weep my fill,
And always I wish him back again,

O, were some villains hanged high,
And every body had their own,
Then I might see the joyful sight,
My Highland Harry back again!
