A NICHT AT THE OPERA !

We thought the forthcoming opera by renowned musician and composer Ian McFarlane was worthy of bringing to your attention. We will soon be providing a short feature on this event.

This 2002 Wigmore Hall programme - AE FOND KISS... on Burns' Night is the London concert performance première of this new Scottish ballad opera. A new British opera - an opera with young leading Scottish & British performers. Ae fond kiss... has just finished its world première run, 23-27 July at the Royal Opera House (LST). The opera has been previewed in The Scotsman, 09/7/2001, Classical Music (Première of the fortnight), 07/7/2001, Metro 23/7/2001 and reviewed in The Times, 31/7/2001 and Musical Opinion (September).

'AE FOND KISS...'

- an epic Edinburgh love story

WIGMORE HALL

I very much hope my Robert Burns ballad opera promoting Robert Burns and Scotland to an international world audience in 2002 will interest? A new opera about the world's most famous poet, and its performance at Britain's most prestigious concert hall - 'AE FOND KISS...' - a Burns Night at the Opera - Wigmore Hall 25th January 2002. N.B. As you will be aware 2002 has been designated the year of Robert Burns.

Very best wishes,

Ian McFarlane.
